Handwriting pressure---About energy

Heavy---dark, presses into the paper heavily---forceful, dynamic, productive, depth of emotion, aggressive spirit, will burn candle on both ends---deep well of energy

Medium---medium dark and pressure to paper---energetic, resouceful, will shoulder his share of responsibility, when inspired---dynamic and productive---energetic but knows how to rest when well runs dry

Light---adaptable, light-hearted, easy-going, forgives easily, energy reserves are short lived, can't finish projects easily, in a stressful environment, she becomes tense and withdrawn

Extra heavy pressure---great emotional tension, strong feelings of fear, anger or competition, maybe too much pressure on the person

Extra light pressure---anxiety---different than tension in that it is a constant, unsolveable feeling sometimes brought on be feeling unable to ever please



Width of Line---About sensuality

Full-bodied lines---desire for sensual pleasure, depth to appetites and enjoyment, can have expensive tastes, great enjoyment of texture, sound, sight, smell and taste etc

Medium line width---average sensuality, could enjoy a gourmet meal but can refrain from cognac etc., enjoys sensual pleasure in moderation

Thin line width---sensitive and refined, sensual gratification has to be carefully accomplished



Margins---About channeling and directing energy

No overall margins---spontaneous and grabs life, gives no time in life to reflect, very busy, intrudes on other people by accident, and is surprised you are upset by it

Broad overall margins---organized, everything under control, poised, doesn't take on too much at once

Average overall margins---conventional in relation to others, socially appropriate---not over involved or under involved.

Narrow overall margin---wants to be involved in everything---very busy, but organized---penciling in every minute of energy and rest time

Top margin wide---restrained, respectful, considerate

Top margin narrow---spontaneous and casual in relationships



Line Spacing and Alignment---About level of involvement with others and planning of time

Overlapping writing---doesn't want to slow down to plan time, very busy in a chaos of constant activity, acitivities overlap, conflicting interests

Average line spacing---plans time, orderly, and collected, reasonably flexible when the unexpected foils his plans, can be spontaneous or plan with people

Distant line spacing---too much planning, unspontaneous, cannot make an off the cuff decision, as a result wants space from interacting because people are too unpredictable, prefers to rely on himself



Word Spacing---Desire for contact with others

Narrow word spacing---an overwhelming need to be with people, will play a subordinate role or push herself on others to just be around them, needs to relflect and not just immediately jump at any opportunity for socializing

Average word spacing---very well-balanced socially, he is neither too involved or too aloof, graceful in approaching and withdrawing from social relationships

Wide word spacing---keeps distant and aloof, private, respects others privacy, does not act spontaneously in social situations, slow in initiating contact, may withdraw if the relationship is too much, too soon, wants space from others



Space within the words---time for yourself

Squeezed space within the words, wide space between the words---goes out of way to give time and space to others even if depriving self of needed time

Expansive space between words, narrow space between words---Most of free time is devoted to self

Average space within and between words---portions time for both others and self in appropriate manner



Writing size---need for visibility and recognition

Large writing---confident, enthusiastic, magnanimous, leader, ego, need for visibility

Small writing---concentrated, academic, independent, happy with own private goals, detail-oriented, self motivated, confident and contained within himself

Average writing---practical and realistic---doesn't need to be independent of his environment by taking charge of it or ignoring it and creating his own environment but approaches the environment with a sense of balance



Direction of line---emotions and feelings

Phrases or sentences slant upwards---optimistic, buoyant, upbeat

Phrases or sentences slant downwards---pessimism, depression, sadness, semometimes temporary, if not could mean prolonged negative outlook on life.

Phrases or sentences go straight across---a reliable person, a person who could sail straight through life and accomplish things no matter whether it is a stormy or sunny time in life.

Phrases or sentences start to go uphill and then curve and go down---starts out with enthusiasm, but can't seem to finish the task

Phrases or sentences start to go down but then curve upward---will go through any problems, trials or obstacles in order to complete a task

Will not write without lined paper or at least lined paper as a guide---conformist, wants to know the rules, needs others approval

Will only write with a ruler underneath---must control everything



Handwriting slant---indicates how people communicate their emotions to the world

Right slant---emotional, warm, shows emotions, spontaneous, friendly

Far to the right slant---overly emotional, impulsive, very sensitive to flattery or criticism, explosive

Straight up and down---emotions ruled by head---analytical---makes plans to show emotions but is not spontaneous

Left slant---reserved, careful, shy

Far left slant---rarely show what they feel, keep to themselves, very private about emotions, does not go out towards other people, prefers observation and maintains control of relationships, protecting own ego

Variable slants---interesting, lively, impressionable, having many different moods---at times, we all have variable slants



Zones---upper, (where capitals and tall letters are) middle, (where lower case letters are) lower, (where lower loops are)

Upper zone--- thoughts, intellect, beliefs etc.---in the head area

Middle zone---daily life, social interactions, immediate needs and cares

Lower zone---physical, sexual and material drives and needs, also unconscious activity

Upper Zone emphasis---When the writer has an upper zone emphasis, his world has to do with imagination, ideas, dreams, beliefs, and/or spirituality. His view of the world is broad. He has a philosophy on life and he wants the big picture. Enjoys intellectual pursuits.

Middle Zone emphasis---The writer's emphasis is on daily needs and concerns and social interactions---handling the nuts and bolts of life

Lower Zone emphasis---gets bored easily with the day to day, interest in material things physical activity and sexuality, has more uncouscious drives and needs.

Signature Placement on the vertical page after a body of writing

The closer the signature is to the body of writing, the more the person identifies himself with a group.

If the signature is placed at a respectable distance away from the body of writing, but not too far away. The writer involves himself in groups when appropriate, but is also independent of them.

The further away the signature is to the body of writing, the more the person wishes to stand apart from the group. If the far away placement is greatly exaggerated, the writer is saying, "Here i am, notice me!"

Far to the right beyond the body of handwriting itself---doesn't wait for anyone, impatient , imprudent, impetuous

Somewhat toward the right---balanced person---will adapt and decide whether situation requires taking a risk or remaining anonymous

Centered under the body of writing---only takes a risk in the name of a group---will not step out on his won

Far to the left---prefers if someone else is in charge---works well but is not a leader

Signature Size

Large---If the signature is larger than the rest of the handwriting the writer wishes to project an image of confidence, but is not truly confident

Small---If the signature is smaller than the handwriting, the writer may lack self-confidence, and his talents are overlooked by others because of it. Also, someone who deliberately makes a small and unimportant looking signature if the rest of the handwriting is bold may have false modesty

Signature and Handwriting Congruence

Signature and handwriting similar in style---Same personality in private and in public

Signature and handwriting---Different personality in private and in public

Illegible signature---Does not want people to know who she is---May have fear of being rejected---Close friends know him only after awhile of effort and he may still be private about some things---Is less interested in communicating effectively.

First name, middle name and last name

First name, middle initial and last name---conventional, follows social norms

First name, last name---if the person has a middle name---direct, outspoken, less conventional

First initial, middle initial, last name---not interested in long explanations---wants it summed up quickly-- doesn't want to be personally fussed over---reserved about self

First initial, last name---wants to be part of the crowd---may not want to be noticed for other reasons

First initial, middle name, last name---stands out because of style and flair or risk-taking---do not underestimate themselves

First name, middle name, last name---gracefully takes center stage---makes a good impression---good feedback gives more confidence to set higher goals
